The Australian Saudi Business Council and Forum is solely focused on promoting and nurturing the bilateral business relationships between Australia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its primary aim is to enhance trade and investment opportunities between the two countries and to foster a mutually beneficial business environment. The organisation is committed to building strong relationships between the business communities of both countries. Through various programs and initiatives, We seek to create opportunities for businesses in both countries to connect, collaborate, and learn from each other. This includes facilitating business missions, networking events, and business match-making services. Through its work, the Australian Saudi Business Forum aims to establish successful business partnerships between Australian and Saudi Arabian businesses.

SAUDI–ANZUK FORUM 2025 – BUILDING GLOBAL PATHWAYS UNDER VISION 2030

In a defining milestone for international collaboration, ASBC/F, in partnership with the Trademark Group of Companies, successfully hosted the Saudi–ANZUK Forum 2025 in Riyadh. Held under the theme “Building Global Pathways Under Vision 2030,” the Forum brought together ministers, mayors, investors, and senior executives from Saudi Arabia, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The two-day event served as a dynamic platform for advancing trade, innovation, and sustainable development across sectors including healthcare, education, logistics, manufacturing, technology, and women’s empowerment.

The Saudi–ANZUK Forum 2025 stands as a testament to ASBC/F’s ongoing mission to strengthen Australia–Saudi relations and foster meaningful, cross-border partnerships under the Kingdom’s transformative Vision 2030.

MEETING WITH HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCE AL WALEED BIN TALAL OF SAUDI ARABIA

In a milestone engagement for the Australian Saudi Business Council and Forum, President Mr. Sam Jamsheedi was honoured with a private audience with His Royal Highness Prince Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud, one of the world’s most prominent investors and philanthropists. The meeting signalled a shared commitment to strengthening Australia–Saudi economic partnerships and opened new avenues for strategic collaboration.

The meeting between the Australian-Saudi Business Council and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese highlighted the Council’s role in strengthening bilateral trade and government ties. The success of initiatives like the Aussie Expo was acknowledged, alongside the business community’s role in driving economic growth. The discussion emphasised market expansion, knowledge exchange, and joint ventures. Strengthening partnerships and long-term investments were seen as key to future prosperity. The meeting reaffirmed a commitment to deeper economic and diplomatic relations between Australia and Saudi Arabia.

ADVANCING REGIONAL COOPERATION WITH NEW ZEALAND

A high-level diplomatic meeting between ASBC/F and New Zealand’s Minister of Trade and Investment marked the beginning of a trilateral collaboration between Australia, Saudi Arabia, and New Zealand. The discussion explored strategic integration across Asia-Pacific markets, highlighting shared ambitions in clean energy, agricultural innovation, and regional logistics.

ADVANCING REGIONAL COOPERATION WITH NEW ZEALAND

AUSTRALIA AND SAUDI ARABIA MINISTERIAL DIALOGUE

A significant step in promoting bilateral ties was the recent ministerial webinar hosted by the Australia Saudi Business Forum. The dialogue featured prominent leaders: His Excellency Bandar Ibrahim AlKhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His Excellency Khalid Almudaifer, Vice Minister of Mining Affairs, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Hon. Madeleine King MP, Federal Minister for Resources and Minister for Northern Australia, Commonwealth of Australia. This webinar underscored the growing collaboration in the mining, industry, and resource sectors. It also spotlighted Australia’s commitment to fostering innovation and investment, as exemplified by the first-ever Australian Country Stand at the Future Minerals Forum. With over 300 Australian companies actively engaged, this year’s forum marked a new chapter in strengthening ties.

AUSTRALIAN SAUDI BUSINESS FORUM SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH FEDERATION OF SAUDI CHAMBER

The Australian-Saudi Business Council has signed an agreement with the Federation of Saudi Chambers to boost trade and investment. This follows a meeting between the Council’s President and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, highlighting the Council’s role in fostering bilateral ties. The agreement builds on initiatives like the Aussie Expo, driving market expansion and joint ventures. Strengthening business partnerships and knowledge exchange remain key priorities. This milestone marks a new era of cooperation and mutual prosperity.

AUSTRALIAN SAUDI BUSINESS FORUM SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH FEDERATION OF SAUDI CHAMBER

AGREEMENT BETWEEN SSS GROUP AND AHQ & SONS GROUP

In November 2023, Sam Jamsheedi facilitated a major trade deal between Saudi Arabia’s AHQ & Sons Group and Australia’s SSS Group, strengthening bilateral economic ties. Valued at US$27 million in its first phase, the deal will enable SSS Group to manufacture scaffolding systems in Saudi Arabia. Production is set at 12,000 tons in the first year, increasing to 50,000–80,000 tons by the third year for local distribution and export. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Saudi Arabia’s National Industrial Development Program CEO, Mr. Suliman Mazroui, and Australian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mark Donovan.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN SSS GROUP AND AHQ & SONS GROUP

THE UNIVERSE AGREEMENT

Universe has committed USD 50 million to a strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, enhancing education and research. This investment will establish advanced research labs and educational facilities, fostering knowledge exchange and innovation. The signing ceremony in Sydney was attended by key dignitaries, including Saudi and Australian representatives. Aligning with Saudi Vision 2030, the initiative positions the Kingdom as a global leader in academic excellence. The new facilities will support research in critical fields, encourage global collaboration, and provide world-class resources for students and researchers.

THE UNIVERSE AGREEMENT

HISTORIC SIGNING OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE MAKKAH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

In January 2024, the first-ever signing of an MOU agreement for collaboration between the Australia Saudi Business Council & Forum and Makkah Chamber of Commerce took place. President of the Australia Saudi Business Council & Forum, Mr. Sam Jamsheedi, and the Secretary General of Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Abdullah Hanife. Makkah is the birthplace of and of the holiest cities in Islam. This signing of this MOU with the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote trade, investment and a bilateral relationship between Australia and The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Trade ties between Saudi Arabia and Australia are set to strengthen after the two countries signed an agreement to improve cooperation across multiple sectors. The agreement will focus on cooperation in industry, mining and food, as well as agriculture, technology, and artificial intelligence. The deal will increase the opportunities for Australian exporters to collaborate with Saudi entities, enhancing bilateral cooperation. The agreement was signed by the President of the Australia Saudi Business Council & Forum, Sam Jamsheedi, and Arnold Jorge, CEO of the Export Council of Australia, during the latter’s visit to the Kingdom with a delegation.

AUSSIE EXPO RIYADH 2024

The first Australian exhibition in Riyadh, showcasing Australian capabilities. This groundbreaking event, hosted together with the Trademark Group of Companies, marked the largest delegation of 75+ Australians to Saudi Arabia. The inaugural Aussie Expo, held on October 21st and 22nd in Riyadh, symbolised a new era of bilateral cooperation. Under the patronage of His Excellency Bandar AlKhorayef, the event brought together over 75 Australian participants and attracted more than 1,000 attendees over two days. This groundbreaking event showcased Australia’s talent and expertise, reinforcing cross-border investment opportunities and laying a solid foundation for future collaborations.

VISION 2030 INSIGHTS: SAB AND HSBC LEADERS ILLUMINATE BILATERAL OPPORTUNITIES

ASBC/F hosted a landmark event at Shangri-La Sydney, featuring Tony Shaw, HSBC Australia and New Zealand CEO, and Tony Cripps, CEO of Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB). The forum provided deep insights into Saudi Vision 2030, focusing on renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and infrastructure development. Key highlights included a keynote address by financial leaders, a fireside panel discussion on opportunities for Australian businesses, and exclusive networking with industry and government representatives. Distinguished guests, including Atif AlOthri, Saudi Commercial Attaché, and Mansoor Al Assaf, Head of Aramco’s Australian Office, emphasised the collaborative spirit of the event.
